震災があった後、都市部では計画停電が行われその間空調も全て止まった。初夏の気温の中オフィスでは多くの人が駅前で配られているような広告の入ったプラスチックのうちわを使用してちょっとした涼をとっていた。しかし山積みの資料間やブックエンドに挟んだりされている光景を見て、デスクトップに馴染むうちわができないかと思い、自立するうちわをデザインした。飾りうちわとしても使えるため、多くのパターンが施され会社の記念品やミュージアムグッズなど色々なシーンで活躍してくれている。

After nutural disaster, there were rolling blackouts in the city, and during that time all the air conditioning was shut down. Many people in the office were using plastic fans with advertisements on them, like the ones distributed in front of the train station, to cool off a bit. Instead of tucking fans between piles of documents and bookends, this freestanding fan was designed to fit in with the desktop. Because they can also be used as decorative fans, they are available in a variety of patterns and are used as company souvenirs and museum goods in a variety of settings.
